The main thing I'd be worried about is that you don't know how the last owner treated it during the all important break-in period. It matters a heck of a lot more how the bike was treated during the first 500 miles than the next 10000 miles. I'd be willing to take that risk for...say....a 95 with 6000 miles for $2000 than pay almost full price for a bike that might have been treated poorly. Personally...shelling out the extra couple hundred bucks for a new one would buy me more than a few hundred bucks of piece of mind (and prevent possible headaches later). Either that or I'd hold out for one a few years older and a thousand bucks cheaper There are constantly savages on Ebay...keep you're eyes peeled and I bet you'll find a great deal.
